For “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (CCC 1285)
The Sacrament of Confirmation is typically conferred during the 11th grade. It is a two year program integrated into our Youth Ministry Program. The student should be enrolled in both the 10th and 11th grade programs here at our parish for confirmation preparation class.
If your student is new to the Sacred Heart and St. Matthew Youth Ministry Program, please contact the Director of Religious Education, Mrs. Jodi Murphy for information on registering your student for this sacrament preparation class.
Adults who wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation should contact Fr. Justin Lopina for information on our RCIA program (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
